Five Important Things I’ve Learnt This Semester

Posted in Lifestyle
on November 26, 2016

Dear Reader,

I know I haven’t posted very much in a while and I am incredibly sorry for that. I’ve just had a massive rush of essays, work and life getting in the way. I’m finding it very hard this year to balance all three. As well as having some money in the bank especially at Christmas (I am finding having an overdraft very handy).

Even though it isn’t the end of the year I felt like this post was needed. So here goes five important things I’ve learnt this semester:

  1. People change. I’ve found that people who I was close to last year, I’m not this year. Mainly because they’ve changed to much that they are no longer themselves. And, I’ve come to realise that isn’t my fault however sad. And it’s also just life.
  2. Life is stressful but it will okay. I think during first year I was way more money smart and way more productive and motivated in doing my essays. I don’t really cope well under stress either but the fact that I know that ‘it will all pass’ , gets me through many days. I’ve also made a note to self to be more money wise ASAP.
  3. It’s okay to be alone. Right, I don’t mean locking yourself in your bedroom away from the world. I mean, you don’t need to have a partner in your life to be happy. So many girls (it’s mostly girls I talk to about this) are so scared of being alone that they attach themselves to the next available guy. You can be single. It’s also good to be, so don’t be afraid.
  4. Speak your mind. I used to keep most of my inner feelings to myself and I still do. But if you want to say something then say it. Life is too short to be thinking of the what ifs.
  5. Take leaps. Do something that you wouldn’t normally do. I’ve joined a society that I wanted to last year but never did and I’m glad I did. So, take jumps, leaps and bounds.  You might be surprised.

Getting to Know Me Tag with Renuka from Past Bedtime Blog

Posted in Lifestyle
on September 25, 2016

Dear Reader,

Me and Renuka have decided to team up and do the ‘Getting to know me tag’. Incase you have zero clue what this involves. I’ll just explain! You can team up with a fellow blogger or even your best friend and set each other a bunch of questions you’d like that your readers would like to hear. Sounds easy doesn’t it? It is!

We both thought that our readers would like to know a little bit more about us! I thought it would be a great idea since I usually just post book reviews. So, below are the questions which Renuka gave me and my answers:

1) Favourite place

I think my favourite place in the UK has to be a beach in Cornwall called Church Cove. I have so many beautiful childhood memories there and for me Cornwall just has something which pulls me. I would love to live there. In general I would say my favourite place to be is in the middle of a forest. I would also to live beside the edge of a forest and just have my own little tree house to read in. I am secretly still 12.

2) Favourite movie

This is so hard! I am a massive movie buff. I watch too many movies and TV shows. My ultimate favourite when I was a child was Dragonheart so I’d probably say thats my favourite movie. I still think it is the best dragon film ever made and nothing will trump it…even How to Train Your Dragon.

3) Favourite tv shows

This is another hard one. I think I would have to say it is a tie between The Originals and The Vampire Diaries. But at the moment I am rematching Supernatural and have fallen in love with it all over again. I love loads though like I am addicted to Game of Thrones, CSI, Criminal Minds. And then I love historical tv shows like Outlander, Reign and Poldark. I watch so many TV shows but hardly any entertainment TV.

4) Do you have any siblings

Yes! I have a brother who is in the year below me (so he is 18). He has just started at the same university as me too so it’s so strange seeing him around. I also have a younger sister who is 16. I love them equally and I would be so lost without them.

5) Do you have any special talents

I really don’t think I have any special talents. I am hyper mobile though…and…if I try really hard I can waggle my ears.

Thanks for reading! Check out the questions I have Renuka on her blog!
